Chelsea is an affluent mostly residential neighbourhood located on the northern bank of the River Thames in West London. The area is renowned for being an artistic and literary hotspot with many noted artists, authors and musicians living here in the past, including Oscar Wilde, Virginian Woolf, J.M.W Turner, John Singer Sargent and more.
But Chelsea is renowned today for its cosmopolitan lifestyle more than anything else. The famous Kings Road and Sloane Street rival Bond Street in Central London and are home to many upscale boutiques and restaurants. While the Saatchi Gallery near Royal Hospital Gardens is one of the most reputed contemporary art galleries in the world.
Being a largely residential neighbourhood, purpose-built offices are hard to find in Chelsea. As a result, most commercial space is located in converted Victorian warehouses. This creates a diverse range of trendy loft-style offices which are popular with creative and media types. Such companies also benefit from easy access to central London from Sloane Square and South Kensington tube stations.
